What was once a best-kept secret among Florida day-trippers has now become an international destination. Anna Maria Island, has always been known for its sugar-white beaches, emerald Gulf waters and quaint business districts, Today, it is now known as a vacation favorite among local, national and international travelers, and a destination for everyone from honeymooners to Hollywood film crews. Kathleen's family moved here some 30 years ago and while there have been many changes, the pleasantries of island life remain. We hope that you will enjoy it as much as we do. A haven for sea turtles, a paradise for shell hunters and the best medicine for a stressful life, Anna Maria offers an opportunity to just lean back in your beach chair with a fishing pole and just forget it all. The good folks at the Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce have put together a guide to the island that you can download as a PDF using Adobe Acrobat. Be warned that the file is pretty large (about 45 pages) but its a good guide to get you started on planning your holiday. It will open in a new window so you may need to disable your pop-up blocker.
